Santa...I know him!

Mt first snow day!  Charlottesville had 3-5 inches last week.  I had to try out my dad's Tennessee snowsuit.

Don't worry. I was only outside for a few minutes.  I'm not sleeping here; just blinded by the white glow!

I'm not sure what I think of this snow.

I now suck my thumb occasionally.  Pretty cute.

2 things to note here: Santa has a pet Cheetah on the left. Also, Santa has no idea how to hold a baby.

I only gave a partial smile for Mom.

Hard to tell here, but I loved Santa's beard.  When I left, I had white beard fur in my mouth and hands.  Mom thought this was gross.

2 Months Old!

This pictures says it all.  I just want to look at the tree all the time.
Tummy time is not usually my favorite.  But I'm a generally laid back guy, so I put up with it.
My smiles are hard to capture.  I smile all the time except when the camera is around, so Mom was pleased with this one.

(This is a sneeze, not a cry)

I can't believe it's been over 2 months since Joel was born!  Time flies.  We are having a blast together.  He is such a fun baby and is always talking, cooing, smiling and kicking his legs.  Some of his favorite activities include looking at lights and ceiling fans, lying on his blanket and playing with toys, lying on the changing table, showering, and cuddling.

New developments include sucking his fist and/or thumb, sleeping 7-9 hours at night, and attending Christmas parties.  At his 2 month doctors appointment, Joel weighed 14 pounds, 14 ounces!  (That's in the 95th percentile)  Needless to say, he's a great eater.  We love you, buddy!

Christmas spirit

My Num Num (Grandma Melanie) smocked this outfit for me. I love it!

Sometimes I go shopping at Wal Mart with friends.

What can I say, I like the mistletoe already.

I also like to put my hand in my mouth.

I also like to stare at the Christmas tree lights.

It's pretty cool how I fit inside Dad's coat. (and yes, that's a penguin ice sculpture)

Turkey Time

Cooking Thanksgiving dinner with Mom.  We stayed in town and celebrated with our family of 3.

Happy Turkey man.

We missed spending time with our extended family, but had a relaxing day together.  We have so many things to be thankful for this year!

The turkey and I weigh about the same amount.  I slept through the Thanksgiving meal in my lamb seat.

I'm getting better and better at using my Bumbo seat!  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

6 Weeks Old

Hanging with my oldest buddy Simon.  We met on my birthday in the hospital.  Now our parents exchange baby-sitting so they can go on dates.  He's not very happy right now.

Flexing my muscles.  I'm loving my new cloth diapers, and so are my parents.

My changing table is one of my favorite places to smile for Mommy and Daddy.

Getting ready for my shower.

Love to hang-out on my Boppy.

6 weeks is a fun age!  I'm starting to show more expression, though I often furrow my brow and look concerned, like in this picture.  Mom says I'm just deep in thought.  I am smiling more and more and have started focusing on faces.  I love to stare at my Daddy.  I'm also sleeping more!  I take good naps during the day and sleep 5-6 hours at night.  Mom and Dad know they are very blessed.

One Month Old (a little late)

Waving to Mom

I'm listening and watching carefully

My favorite new hangout

Rocking Daddy's Cowboy sweat suit from the 80's.
Its been a great five weeks!  My mom finally finished writing her birth story for my baby book.  For all you labor and delivery ladies, you can find it on the main page in the right column.

Fun times with the Roaches!

I can't quite do the Bumbo seat yet...but I'm getting close! In the meantime it's a struggle.
Check out my cool sweater vest. I'm pretty old for my age.

Mom forgot that the mirror would also capture the camera in the picture. I'm trying to tell her.

I'm breaking it down in the tub. The loin cloth was mom's idea.

Not my best moment.

Mom + me + Dad + Carter Mountain = my idea of a good time

Gramps surprises me sometimes.

I loved having visitors! They loved me really well.

Sherrie gave some helpful tips to Mom and Dad. Thanks!

Apples galore.

I tried to eat the leaf, but I couldn't quite reach it.

Like Grandpa like grandson.

I'm trying to look out of the corner of my eye, but I'm not very good at it yet.
